Oh, hi there. I forgot about you...

Well it's a good thing no one reads this because I completely forgot about it. Anywho, I'm bored at work so here is my 2nd blog post ever. Nearly a year later......


I want to talk about a band called Atlas Genius. It is possible that you have heard them on XM radio or FIFA 13. However what you may not know is that the band actually consists of 3 brothers from Adelaide, South Australia. Keith, Michael and Steven Jeffrey, along with friend and keyboardist Darren Sell. Keith Jeffrey describes their music as influenced by bands like Death Cab for Cutie, The Police, and Beck. Personally I think they sound more like a 3way love child of Miike Snow,Young the Giant and Foster the Poeple. I heard their first single, 'Trojans' nearly a year ago and I am very excited for thier first full studio album to drop on Feb. 19.

I was lucky enough to see them a few months back at a small,local venue in town.They have become even bigger since then. They are slated for a spring tour with another of my current favorite bands Imagine Dragons. I got to talk to Keith after the show and he is a super friendly, down to eath chap. I expect these guys to be huge in the next year and become the 2nd big time alt rock band form down under alongside The Temper Trap. They have already come a long way from dry walling, laying floorboards and playing covers at local pubs. Go check them out! AG

Hello everyone.

Welcome to my first ever blog. I have never had desire to blog, or share my opinions on the web....until a few hours ago. I am new at this and learning the ways of the blogging world so please bare with me as I work out my newbie status.

 

That being said, I LOVE music. Music is my purpose for talking to you right now. Music is a huge part of my life. I play it, I listen to it, I make it, I fall in love with it, I have laughed to it, cried to it and I could not imagine life without it. I genuinely enjoy MOST all types of music and kind of like food, I will try (listen) to anything once. People are always asking me, Alex, where did you find this band? Where did you hear that song? Make me a mix playlist. What have you been listening to lately? So, I decided to share my music and my thoughts on music with not only my friends, but the world! Assuming anyone besides me ever reads this..... Anyway, I am here to discuss all things music. Be that a new band I have discovered that I think you all may and enjoy, or a concert that I have been to recently, or just what I am listening to in the moment. If I can enlighten at least one person who reads this, then I will consider this blog a success.
